{"id":250,"date":"2015-05-21T11:40:56","date_gmt":"2015-05-21T15:40:56","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.247.fishing\/?p=250"},"modified":"2015-06-11T12:12:34","modified_gmt":"2015-06-11T16:12:34","slug":"big-baits-for-big-fish","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/247.fishing\/?p=250","title":{"rendered":"Big Baits For Big Fish"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Big baits for big fish: \u00a0Fact or Fiction?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Both. \u00a0Or neither. \u00a0I have personally \u00a0caught <em>really small<\/em> fish on baits as big as they are and I&#8217;ve caught big fish on baits as small as a little black ant or a #16 Zebra Midge. \u00a0I don&#8217;t believe that the size of the bait has much influence on what size fish you may catch. \u00a0However, the <em>size of the<strong> hook\u00a0<\/strong><\/em>can. \u00a0For instance, if you are using a really large 5\/0 hook, then it is most likely that a smaller mouthed or sized fish can&#8217;t even get the hook into it&#8217;s mouth. \u00a0While this may limit the number of hook-ups, it will surely weed out the smaller ones.<\/p>\n<p>Larger fish obviously need to have a greater caloric intake and may be &#8220;wired&#8221; for larger food items. \u00a0Larger fish like Salmon in the 15-30 lb. range are particularly fond of egg patterns and will often take a bead or egg about the size of a green pea. \u00a0Baits this size also work on the itty-bitty ones, as the hooks are small enough for them. \u00a0As to best answer the question &#8220;Big baits for big fish?&#8221;&#8230;.. \u00a0 Sure, only if you want to miss out on most of the fun. \u00a0\ud83d\ude09<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Big baits for big fish: \u00a0Fact or Fiction?
